Celebrity Summit Revolutionized
The Celebrity Summit, sailing fall and winter roundtrip from San Juan, has just been revolutionized from the studs down to an advanced type of paint on the underwater hull and the modernization is stunning. Cabins have been decorated in beige tones with new mattresses, linens, furniture and wood panelling on the walls. bathrooms are larger and shower stalls more comfortable in size. If you have a balcony, you may never want to leave your cabin. The Oceanview Cafe was completely updated and is now more airy with indoor and outdoor seating, there are more food stations, offering dishes from many countries.
The two story Cosmopolitan dining room has been transformed and is roomier and brighter, with four or five different chair styles. There are several specialty restaurants such as Tuscan Grill, Qsine and Sushi on Five available for a small surcharge (to cover the wait staff gratuities.) A private retreat and sun deck have been added for the exclusive use of suite guests. Famed New York celebrity chef, Daniel Boulud, has created complimentary signature dishes for Luminae, the exclusive restaurant for suite guests. Aqua class guests have their own restaurant, Blu. For guests who enjoy the healthy life, the Canyon Ranch spa has been redesigned and the space is beautiful. there are new features such as hammam turkish bath and infrared sauna.
The casino has been completely refigured and is more spacious and bright. New shops have been added to help with guest retail therapy. Among the places to have a drink are the redesigned Rendevouz Lounge with quiet nooks to curl up in with a drink and a great book or meet up at the large bar area with old and new
friends. The ice topped Crush bar and the Martini bar area is the happening locale to see and be seen. Celebrity Cruises has teamed up with the American Ballet Theatre for some evening performances on special dates.
The 2019 dates on Celebrity Summit are September 8, October 6 and October 20. Another performance will take place on the February 15, 2020 sailing. This is the first time professional ballet will be performed on a moving ship and a special stage had to be constructed just for these performances.
The Celebrity Summit is now sailing from cape liberty, new jersey to bermuda and canada/new england. The ship will reposition back to San Juan on October 20th, 2019. It will do a 7 night cruise on October 26 with stops that include Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire, then the ship will sail 7, 10 and 11 nights cruises from San Juan until May 2, 2020 when it returns to Cape Liberty. In august 2020, the ship will sail from Cape Liberty to Dublin and then Dublin to Boston with stops in Greenland and Iceland on both segments. After several Canada cruises from Boston, a Boston to
Ft Lauderdale and a roundtrip Panama Canal cruise. The Celebrity Summit final returns to San Juan from Ft Lauderdale on November 28, 2020.
